Rustin Knudtson for Congress
Working to build a future worthy of California’s 36th District.

A Necessary Change
It’s difficult for anyone to claim they perfectly represent a district. But when the challenges facing us have grown this severe, the old way of doing things no longer works. Addressing the problems in our community requires a representative who isn’t beholden to the systems that failed us, someone willing to take risks, speak plainly, and fight with nothing to lose.

Why I’m Doing This
For too many people, here and across the country, life has only become harder. Whether it’s natural disasters, economic instability, or the daily reality of poverty, these issues all stem from deeper forces that shape our district and the nation.
- The economy is broken because financial institutions and wealth-hoarding interests have extracted value from working people for decades.
- Housing has become unaffordable because massive corporate investors speculate on a basic human need, pushing families out and driving prices up.
- Public transportation and infrastructure should reflect the future our predecessors imagined, accessible, reliable, and built for the public good.
- The right wing has collapsed into paranoia and grift, leaving communities vulnerable while real issues go unaddressed.
- Poverty and homelessness are devastating our communities, and blaming people forced onto the street distracts from the institutions and policies that caused the crisis.
- Another economic downturn is inevitable, and we need leaders who will protect ordinary people, not corporations, when it comes.
- Immigrants are not our enemies. The strength of this country has always come from our shared immigrant heritage and the contributions of people from every corner of the world.

Get Involved
If we want to build a movement in this district, we have to build it together. I’m not running because I want attention or a title. I’m running because I’m willing to take the hits, stand up first, and do the work. If you’re ready to fight for something better, I’d be honored to have you with us.
